Opening Ceremony of Hayatuzzaman Ibrahim Health Care Center

Hayatuzzaman Ibrahim Healthcare Center is a center of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh operated by the National Healthcare Network. The opening ceremony of the center took place at Manehor, Araihazar, Narayangonj. Prof. Dr. A K Azad Khan, President of BADAS, chaired the program. Mr. Nazrul Islam Babu, MP, Narayangonj-2 was the Chief Guest. Besides, Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, Vice President, BADAS, Mr. Sayef Uddin, Secretary General, BADAS, and Donor of Hayatuzzaman Ibrahim Healthcare Center, Mr. A T M Hayatuzzaman were present in the program. A Specialist Medical camp also took place on that day. About 20 Doctors (Consultant) in different disciplines advised the patient. The ceremony ended through a tree plantation.

Orientation program of 2nd batch of NHN Nursing Institute
Orientation program of 2nd batch of NHN Nursing Institute was held on 9 January, 2022 at NHN Nursing Institute, Sonakhali, Sonargaon, Narayanganj. Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, Vice President, BADAS was the chief guest of the program. Md. Sayef Uddin, SG, BADAS, and Dr. M A Samad, CEO, NHN were also present. The event was divided into two parts: Firstly, a cap distribution ceremony, then a cultural program.

Inauguration of Geriatric Day Care Centre at BIRDEM

JMI Group and BIRDEM Hospital sign MoU to ensure corporate healthcare
From now on, contractual and former employees of the JMI Group including their parents, spouse and children can enjoy specialized treatment at low cost at the corporate heath check-up centre of the BIRDEM General Hospital.
The JMI Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the BIRDEM General Hospital and made such exclusive corporate healthcare service for its employees. The MoU was signed on Sunday (21 August) at the A K M Shahjahan Auditorium of the BIRDEM General Hospital, read a media release.

Pubali Bank Ltd donates ambulance to BIRDEM General Hospital
As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Pubali Bank Limited donated an Ambulance to BIRDEM General Hospital. Safiul Alam Khan Chowdhury, Managing Director and CEO of Pubali Bank Limited handed over the key to Professor Dr. A K Azad Khan, President of BADAS. Mohammad Ali, Additional Managing Director & CEO of Pubali Bank Limited was also present.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Pubali Bank Ltd. and BIRDEM General Hospital before the donation program. Under this MoU, Pubali Bank Ltd. employees will avail 20% discount on service charge from `Executive health check center' and 30% discount on medical service from BIRDEM General Hospital.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between News Broadcaster Alliance Society of Bangladesh (NBA) and Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital
In 19 May 2021, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Society of Bangladesh (NBA) and the Ibrahimi Arkadyak Hospital in the News Broadcaster's newsroom at Bosskari TV Station.
Under this MoU, NBA members and their dependents can receive hospital services at a reduced price. NBA president Mumtahnia Hasnat Ritu, CEO of Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital, Professor Dr. MA Rashid, Chairman of the Board of Advisors, Professor Mahmudar Rahman and others were present in the event.

Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital and Research Institute (ICHRI): Story of Success
Five years of Vascular Surgery at Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital and Research Institute (ICHRI) celebrated on 19 March 2022.
Up to 18 October, 2021, 75000 Cath Lab procedures have been done successfully.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital & Research Institute and National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) on 17 January, 2022, Monday at boardroom of NICVD. Prof. Mir Jamal Uddin, Director, NICVD; Prof. Dr. M A Rashid, CEO, Ibrahim Cardiac; Prof. G M Faruque, Course Director, Ibrahim Cardiac and Prof. AKM Manzurul Alam HoD, Cardiac Surgery, NICVD attended the ceremony. Other senior doctors of NICVD and officials of Ibrahim Cardiac were also present.

Sharifa Roksana Academic Session
Unveiling of Plaque and Signing of MoU of “Sharifa Roksana Academic Session”
On 30 May, 2021 (Sunday) a meeting was held on the occasion of the auspicious inauguration of “Sharifa Roksana Academic Session” at Chowdhury Bir Uttam Conference Hall.
In the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Ibrahim Arcadia Hospital and Research Institute at Rajarbagh Hospital. It was signed by Prof. MA Rashid, CEO of Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital and Md. Adliur Rahman, Managing Director of Rajarbagh Hospital. Bangladesh Diabetic Association and Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital doctors along with senior officials were present in the event. Sharifa Roksana Academic Award plaque was unveiled at the end of the meeting.

Distance Learning Program (DLP)
Online and offline courses for 35th batch have started from DLP this financial year. With this, the number of doctors trained in DLP stands at 19,995.

Changing Diabetes in Children (CDiC)
The project called 'Changing Diabetes in Children' (CDiC) has implemented various programs this year with the support of World Diabetes Foundation and Novo Nordisk. The aim was to provide special services to diabetic children and provide training to doctors and educators.
337 new diabetic children (Type-1) were registered under this scheme in the last financial year. With this, the number of diabetic children registered in this project stands at 7,190. Free insulin, syringes, glucometers and strips are provided to registered diabetic children (Type-1) up to 18 years of age.

BADAS and the 'TB Initiative'
About 3.71 lakh diabetic patients are screened through BADAS and 'TB Initiative' project. Of these, 14,671 patients were identified as probable Tuberculosis patients. Besides, 13,417 patients underwent all tests.
Through the project, counseling as well as diagnosis on tuberculosis are provided. It is also involved in raising awareness of such disease among diabetic patients with TB. For this, posters, guidebooks and leaflets have been distributed. 700 patients were identified and 1,184 were treated under the TB awareness scheme.

Ibrahim Healthline
Patients can contact 'Ibrahim Health-Line', a call center under the National Healthcare Network (NHN) on the short code number 10614 any time to consult expert doctors.
At present, 3 call center booths are located at NHN Mirpur. 100 patients on average register at the call center every day through NHN's hospitals/centres. Currently, NHN offers two packages for patient registration at the call center: One-year package priced at BDT 499 and Three-month package priced at BDT 150.
A total of 51,329 patients have registered at the call center through NHN. Out of this, 18,476 patients registered for the one-year package and 32,853 patients registered for the three-month package.

BADAS Nationwide Diabetes Registry (BNDR)
IT-related work has already been completed. About 80% of data addition work on NHN has been completed. Manpower training has been completed. 50% of the information has been added to BNDR in BIRDEM. This work has been going on since last two months at BIHS General Hospital. BDT 20 will be taken from each patient for adding this information. Patient Apps has been completed.
Once the system is implemented, the patient will get all of his/her information on a single reference number. All the information will be added after a patient is discharged from the hospital. This will be the second phase.

Centre for Global Health Research (CGHR)
Diabetes screening and care through mobile diabetes center. The Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Co-operatives has funded this program on the 100th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman during Mujib Year, and 50 years of Bangladesh Independence. Besides nationwide physical and digital awareness campaigns, a total of 100,000 people will be screened. Moreover, 20,000 diabetic people will get free complication screening (including blood pressure, blood glucose, HbA1c, lipids, urine ACR, ECG, sonogram, fundoscopy, dental, and foot examination) through this program.

Diabetes Mapping
A joint initiative of NCDC, DGHS, JICA and BADAS to develop a digital mapping platform to identify people at risk for developing diabetes, people with diabetes, their treatment, control and diabetes-related complication at household levels in Bangladesh.

Manpower Development
Training for Doctors, Nurses, and Para health professionals (SACMO, Medical Technologists etc) on Diabetes, Hypertension, Asthma, and COPD diagnosis and Management. Trained 2700 Doctors, Nurses, and Para health professionals in last 2 years.
Uttara Gausul Azam Avenue Sector-13, Specialist Chamber Complex and Executive Health Care Center managed by Bangladesh Diabetic Association NHN was inaugurated by Honorable Mayor Mr. Md. Atiqul Islam Dhaka City Corporation North. Honorable Member of Parliament Mr. Mohammad Habib Hasan MP, Mr. Syed Manzoor Elahi, Md. Sayef Uddin, Secretary General-BADAS and National Professor AK Azad Khan, President Bangladesh Diabetic Association were present at the event
