Ibrahim Medical College
Ibrahim Medical College, an institution of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh, dedicated to the memory of its founder Late National Prof Dr Md. Ibrahim, was established in the year 2002.
Course offered & affiliation:
The college offers 5 years’ MBBS Course as approved by BM & DC leading to MBBS degree of the University of Dhaka. The college also offers a 5 years’ BDS course as approved by BM & DC leading to BDS degree of the University of Dhaka. The college has been accorded permission by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of the Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh and is affiliated with the University of Dhaka and recognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.
IMC has been listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED) and Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), which will enable our graduates to appear in USMLE, PLAB (UK), AMC (Australia) and other entrance examinations abroad.
Goal & objectives:
The goal of the college is to create LEADERS of medical profession, who are competent, committed, caring and willing to serve the community. The college is to provide an excellent broad based education with a focus on professional development for the students to equip them with knowledge, skill and attitude necessary to address health problems of the community and also to acquire firm basis for future training and studies.
The Campus:
The college has two campuses, one is located at 1/A, Ibrahim Sarani, Shegunbagicha, Dhaka-1000 & the other is at 122, Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, Shahbagh, Dhaka-1000. The departments are well furnished, fully air conditioned and adequately equipped to accommodate Class rooms, Dissection hall, Laboratories and MuseuMs Each department has been provided with computers having internet facilities with access to Hinari, scanner, OHP and other audiovisual aids. All the lecture rooms have been equipped with audio visual equipments including multimedia set up.
Teaching Hospitals:
The Teaching Hospitals of the College is internationally reputed 715 bedded multi-disciplinary BIRDEM General Hospital. If needed College can also utilize teaching facility from Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital & Research Institute (ICHRI) and other Health Care Institutes of Bangladesh Diabetic Association.
Teaching Learning Activities/Progress:
College now in its 19th year continues to pursue its objective of producing competent, committed and caring doctors. With a highly dedicated faculty, motivational environment, regularly and closely monitored teaching-learning activities, students have already started showing their potentials and promises.
