Public-Private Partnership Project
1. Establishment of a Liver Transplantation Unit:
Bangladesh Diabetic Association implemented this project in association with Department of Social Services (DSS) under the Ministry of Social Welfare of the Government of Bangladesh. The project was approved with an estimated total cost of Tk. 1559.00 lakh (Tk. 928.77 lakh by GoB and Tk 630.23 lakh by BADAS as Sangstha's contribution). The main components of the project were civil construction, procurement of medical equipment, machineries and training for the doctors. The project is almost completed.
2. Construction of Malek Chowdhury Academic Building :
Construction of Malek Chowdhury Academic Building for Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) at Darus-Salam, Mirpur, Dhaka. Construction of basement and ground floor under first phase is already completed, which was handed over to the university authority. The construction work was done by the Public Works Department (PWD) as deposit work; cost of which was borne by BADAS. A total of Tk. 1007.02 lakh was disbursed to PWD for the purpose.
3. Construction of Ibrahim Medical College over BIRDEM-2 at Segun Bagicha, Dhaka :
The construction work is being done through the PWD as a deposit work. Notification of Award (NoA) was issued to the selected contractor on 02.04.2012 at a cost of Tk. 1478.58 lakh for construction of 6th floor to 10th floor. Construction of the remaining two floors (11th and 12th floor) has been done through variations. Structural works for 6th to 12th floor have already been completed. Necessary finishing works of the building are now in progress. The project is expected to be completed soon. A total of Tk. 1400.00 lakh was disbursed to the PWD against the works upto June 2014.
4. Saima - Ibrahim Nursing College and Institute at Shafipur, Gazipur :
A 4-storied building having an area of 38061 sq. ft. has already been constructed for this institute and handed over to National Health Care Network (NHN). The ground floor and 1st floor of the building are being used as Nursing College as planned originally. It has been designed to make temporary accommodation for the foreign faculties at the 3rd floor and hostel for the nurses at the 4th floor of the building; for which contractor has also been selected. But, works could not be started due to scarcity of fund.
5. Establishment of a 50 bedded Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Hospital for Women and Children at Uttara, Dhaka :
The project is being implemented by BADAS in association with Department of Women Affairs under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs for a period of 3 (three) years from July 2014 to June 2017. Government of Bangladesh (GoB) has approved the project with a total cost of Tk. 2399.59 lakh (GoB: Tk. 1439.75 lakh and BADAS : Tk. 959.84 lakh) The civil works of the project will be implemented through PWD as deposit work. Selection of contractor for civil works is under process.
6. Establishment of a Graduate Nursing College and 100 bedded General Hospital in Comilla :
A project has been designed to establish a Graduate Nursing College and 100 bedded general hospital in Comilla with assistance from GoB. The DPP of the project has already been submitted to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) for processing approval of the project.
